1987 March Campus construction completed.
April Iwaki Meisei University opened.
July Student Union founded.
September All-weather tennis courts completed.
October School opening ceremony held. Statue of Erini unveiled.
The yacht “Echo II” brought from Taiwan.
November Student clubhouse completed.
1988 March First Research Bulletin published by both the College of Science and Engineering and the College of Humanities.
April Teacher Certification Courses begun. Auditing student system inaugurated.
Courses related to school librarian certification opened.
May First open lecture held.
July Shiosai-so training facility opened.
October First IMU Festival held.
1989 January Vibration/Control Experiment Center completed.

1990 April Electron Microscope Department opened.
Computer Center systems enhanced.
1991 March First graduation ceremony held, with 526 members of the university’s first graduating class.
June Tatsusaburo Suzuki named the second president, replacing the first president Mitsuo Kodama.

1992 March Establishment of four Courses of two Graduate Schools (Master’s Course) approved.
1993 October 70th anniversary celebration held by Meisei Gakuen, the parent school corporation of Meisei University
1994 March Establishment of Doctoral Courses in two Departments of two Graduate Schools approved.
1995 March Establishment of Course of English and American Literature of the Graduate School of Humanities (Master’s Course) approved. Science and Technology East Building (currently Science and Engineering East Building) completed.
April Shozo Sawada named the third president.
October Computer systems updated to enable Internet access.
1996 April Seidai Arai named administrative director.
1997 October 10th anniversary of Iwaki Meisei University celebrated.
November Establishment ceremony of the Iwaki Meisei University Alumni Association held.

1999 January National Center Test for University Admissions conducted.
April Takanobu Terada named the fourth president.
2000 April Kazuaki Saito named the fifth administrative director.
May Establishment of Department of Environmental Science of the College of Science and Engineering and establishment of Department of Language and Culture and Department of Psychology of the College of Humanities approved.
2001 April Department of Environmental Science of the College of Science and Engineering established, and Department of Language and Culture and Department of Psychology of the College of Humanities established.
June Humanities Building Annex (Laboratory Building) completed.
October Iwaki Meisei University Parents’ Association founded.
2002 September The yacht “Echo III” retired and exhibited on campus.
2003 February Reconstruction of the Welfare Building completed.
April Masaaki Takashige named the fifth president.
High-tech Research Center remodeled to become the Cooperative Research Center.
2004 April High-Resolution Analytical Electron Microscope Center remodeled to become the Cooperative Research Center.

2006 April Accredited as a Class 1 Designated Graduate School for Training Clinical Psychologists by the Foundation of the Japanese Certification Board for Clinical Psychologists.
University-high school collaboration with Fukushima Prefectural Taira Technical High School launched.
September Dispatch of academic exchange delegation with Liaoning Shihua University in China started.
November Establishment of Department of Pharmacy of the Faculty of Pharmacy approved.
2007 March Faculty of Pharmacy Building, Learning Center, and Medicinal Botanical Garden completed.
April Department of Pharmacy of the Faculty of Pharmacy established.
June Track and field ground reconstructed, with the field inside the track completely covered with artificial turf.
October 20th anniversary of Iwaki Meisei University celebrated.
2008 May Agreement on international academic exchange signed with Shenyang Pharmaceutical University in China.
July Tokusaburo Kurata named the sixth administrative director.
October 85th anniversary celebration held by Meisei Gakuen, the parent school corporation of Meisei University.
2009 April Takeshi Sekiguchi named the sixth president.
University-high school collaboration with Fukushima Prefectural Iwaki Agricultural High School launched.
2010 April Department of Science and Engineering of the College of Science and Engineering established.
